Historically, Student Unions have held an important place in promoting social change in Brazil. The National Students Union (UNE – União Nacional dos Estudantes) was founded in 1937 and was active at most of the significant historical events which took place in Brazil over the past century.

Confederation of the Student Associations of the Univerisity of Trento

The Tavolo delle Associazioni Universitarie Trentine (Confederation of Students Associations of Trentino) TAUT was created in 2005 by the Youth Secretariat of the Autonomous Province of Trento in Italy. The initial objective of the confederation was to be an aggregation point between the students, associations, the University of Trento and the citizens of the city of Trento.   A specific fund was created for this purpose.

The purpose of the Tutorial Education Program (PET) is to provide an enriching environment for economics students who would like to pursue an academic career. It is financed by the Brazilian Federal Government and offers scholarships for top students. Students who belong to these groups receive this scholarship in order to avoid the initial temptation of an early access to the market, thus losing the chance of developing a strong basis. The program that has been a success all around Brazil, is recognized as an example of a successful education policy.

 

Indian experience

My first thought when deciding to go abroad to work was to choose Europe as a destination. After all it is our old, well known and beloved continent and this is a guarantee that I would have a good experience. When receiving an offer from a project in India coordinated by the consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers, the local University NSHM and the international exchange organization AIESEC, on global entrepreneurship, my first thought was to reject it. Thank God, I did not.
